VISUAL USABILITY TESTING

Selecting methods of gathering feedback.

Focus Group

After having shown my concept boards to my collegues, another way of gaining feedback that I carried out was a focus group. In this, we were to speak to a select number of people about our project. During this time, I was careful to not ask yes-no questions, but rather more open-ended questions. It was important to prompt people to give feedback based on their own perception of my work.

During the focus group, I asked about the colour scheme. The participants responded that the chosen colours were both playful and easy on the eyes, which was my goal. Some participants thought that I should give a little more focus to the brighter colours.

Regarding iconography, the participants thought that it was clear enough, and they were not able to associate the logo with other brands or applications.

Survey

The final stage of gathering feedback was conducting a survey. For this survey, unlike the focus groups, it was important to keep the questions as direct as possible.

Results

The results for these two feedback gathering techniques have been discussed here.
