CONCEPT BOARDS

Presenting the concept behind the application.

Concept board feedback

The first part of feedback that I recieved on my project was through a demonstration of my main concept to my peers. From this presentation I got feedback from fellow designers on the application's concept. This kind of feedback was very useful as I was able to see other designers' perspectives and opinions.

The first piece of feedback that I recieved was on one of the genre icons used, namely the cook book icon, as the bowl in the icon was too much associated with eating rather than cooking. For this reason, I thought it would be better to change it to something that better represents the act of cooking, like tools used.

The next piece of advice I recieved was on the communication aspect of the application, as I had created a space for people to discuss in groups, but not one-to-one. Thus I decided to include an individual messaging page.

Someone also suggested that I alter the logo so that it would indicate the app is not only based on books, but also the user's experience and the sense of community. To show this aspect, I first started by sketching different possibilities and experimenting with different forms and icons.

Keeping this advice in mind helped me to polish and finalise my final concept, which can be found here.
