USABILITY VS. UTILIZATION
Task: Discuss your personal understanding of usability vs utilization.
The following is how I personally see usability and utilization.
Usability refers to the visual aspect of a feature, meaning it mainly deals with user interface and experience. For something to usable, it must be easy to use and understand, as its use is to be made use of.
Is it comfortable to use?
On the other hand, utilization deals mainly with the actual function of a feature. The criteria in this case is that the function works as it should, and fulfills its purpose. When designing a website, a designer must keep utilization in mind, as the users will be visiting the website expecting their desires to be fulfilled.
Does it work?
Usability and utilization are two different things, however, they go hand in hand when designing a website. Having usability without utilization would mean lack of function, and having utilization without usability would mean lack of visual/emotional appeal.
